Ancient Rome is one of the most well-known civilizations in history, and for good reason. The Romans were far ahead of their time in many ways. They laid the foundation for much of what still shapes our world today. I love teaching Ancient Rome because it allows us to draw meaningful parallels to other societies as well as to modern times. Ancient Rome Unit Bundle

Understanding geography is essential when teaching Ancient Rome, and this Ancient Rome Map and Roman Geography activity makes it fun and accessible. Students begin by watching a video divided into three sections: the geographical features of Ancient Rome, how geography shaped daily life, and who lived in Rome. Afterward, they complete a map activity, use a graphic organizer, and play a game that reinforces their learning. Exit tickets and an answer key are also included. This resource works well as an introduction to any ancient Rome unit. This activity really helps students understand the critical role geography played in Rome’s success.

The final Ancient Rome resource I am going to break down is the Ancient Rome Achievements. The perfect activity for teaching Ancient Rome. The achievements of Ancient Rome continue to influence our world today, and this resource helps students see why. In the activity, we really look at the lasting contributions that this ancient civilization provided. The activity focuses on two major contributions: architecture and knowledge.  There is also a video included with this resource, and a graphic organizer that goes with it. Students watch the video, complete the accompanying graphic organizer, and participate in a game that is fun and brings the content to life. Students end the lesson by filling in one of the provided exit slips. Like our other resources, it can be used as a class, independently, or for online learning. An answer key is also included, making it even easier to implement right away.
